College and the Jive

Soon, in approximately 12 days (weather you are counting today or not), i shall be going back to Aberdeen college to start the year of studying which i hope to pass the HNC course of Music!

Holidays have been VERY numb skullingly (i know that's not a word) boring, but as time does its magic it has flown by once again! This holiday was supposed to be spent learning an album of Dream Theaters called 'Images and Words'. I have succeed in learning well over half of the album, but of course playing guitar day in, day out gets indeed, numb skullingly boring. So with that in mind i have spent most of my time on the laptop, chilling out and doing bugger all. I have attended the odd gig (Iron Maiden and Akord), chilled out with mates and spent the odd night over at Daboos when he hasn't been working and just played xbox. I don't know if you will recall but i sold my xbox before i attended college last year to concentrate more on my college work, and i do believe that this worked, so for that i am proud of my self because i was never off that thing!

During these very long days which seem to be flying by, i have been giving guitar lessons to a friend of mine, and this is what i am aiming to do but with more students, to fund my time at college... and of course a new guitar ( a 7 string ;D ). About 2-3 weeks ago i was speaking to a guy that works for Aberdeen Council, and he works with children and teenagers and organizes thing for them to do, and recently he started up a music project that a few mates have also worked on. I was speaking to my only guitar student (at the moment any way) and he said he was telling the Council worker about the lesson he had had. The worker (known as Mick) was very interested in setting some thing up for me so that i could be earning some thing from teaching kids that he works with. I was of course interested and waited to talk to him properly after he came back from holiday. So the past few days i have awaited his call, and unfortunately it has not yet rang. I spoke to him a few days ago, he has not forgotten but i do realize that we all get busy, and loose track of things.

I do have some ( very little ) money saved up for the travel into college, but until i get more students or this thing with Micks kicks off, unfortunately i might be in a bit of trouble. But i have faith, so i shall soldier on and get on with it.

In other news i swapped my 100 Watt Digital Marshall half stack for a 50 Watt Marshall Valve JCV600 combo. Its pretty sweet and maneuverable!
